I'm trying to install Office Enterprise 2007. I purchased & am in possession

of the original CD (I bought the CD about 30 minutes ago, and it went

directly from the sealed package into my CD-ROM drive). When I try to

install, it gets about halfway through and then a dialog box pops up saying

"Setup cannot find setup.exe. Browse to a valid installation source, and then

click OK". When I browse to the folder that contains setup.exe (which is

obviously the root directory containing the rest of the installation files &

folders), it keeps producing the same error.

I have tried installing from the CD, as well as copying all of the files to

a folder named "Office" which I put on my desktop (same error); then I moved

all the files into a folder I created and named C:\Office and got the same

error again.

Note: when I use the dialog box to browse to a folder that does NOT contain

"setup.exe", I get the error "Invalid location", whereas when I use the

dialog box to browse to the folder that DOES contain the setup.exe file, it

momentarily switches back to the installation screen until it errors again.

Please help!

    • I'd contact Product Support. I believe they will give you free support if

you can't even get the software installed. Haven't personally run across

this error, but I'm wondering if it's looking for a setup.exe for another

      component (not itself, that is).
